Coimbatore: The District Collector, Durai Ravichandran (in-charge) inspected the drip irrigation carried out in a spread area of nine acres at Sarkar Samakkulam Panchayat Union.
Addressing the media, he said, "Rs. 514.68 lakhs has been provided as subsidy to 1176 farmers for drip water irrigation. Subsidy has been brought to carry out irrigation through the drip water irrigation process in nine acres of farmland at Sarkar Samakkulam Panchayat Union. Financial aid is being provided up to 100 percent for small scale farmers and 75 percent for large scale farmers. Drip water irrigation will be of help to a great extent at the time of drought."
The District Collector added, "Farmers who wish to install drip water irrigation in their farmlands can register with a passport size photo, land ownership certificate, Ration card and Aadhar card. For more information, farmers can approach Assistant Agriculture Officers."
