TNAU forecasts better prices for Coconut Copra between January-March

The Centre for Agricultural and Rural Development Studies, TNAU has forecasted better prices for good quality coconuts and copras during the first three months of the year.


The Centre for Agricultural and Rural Development Studies, TNAU has forecasted better prices for good quality coconuts and copras during the first three months of the year.

A release from the University said that set back in coconut production due to cyclone Gaja and also the festive seasons in the forthcoming months will enhance the demand for coconut in the domestic market. According to their analysis, the price of good quality coconut during January- March 2019 will be Rs 15-17 per nut and good quality copra price will rule around Rs. 105 per kg. The Centre has advised farmers to take necessary selling decisions based on the forecast.
