Nilgiris farmers to use water sprinklers to save crops from frost

The Nilgiris : Severe frost is being reported at various places in Nilgiris and farmers here are planning to use water sprinklers to save crops from getting affected due to frost.

The Nilgiris : Severe frost is being reported at various places in Nilgiris and farmers here are planning to use water sprinklers to save crops from getting affected due to frost. 

Frost is a phenomenon related with winter in the Hills and frosting started early in Nilgiris this year. The maximum temperature is 18 Degree Celsius and minimum temperature is 8 Degree Celsius. The rains too have reduced in the hill station during the past few days. The frosting severely affects crops and vegetation in the area. Farmers are taking various countermeasures to protect the vegetation from getting scorched due to frosts. 

Nilgiris farmers are planning to use water sprinklers to protect their vegetation. Farmers are sprinkling their farms and trying to maintain the moisture of the land to avoid frosting. The frosting is expected to continue till the end of January.
