Farmer producer companies to get land in Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation for agribusiness

Pune: Farmer producer companies (FPC) in the state of Maharashtra will be given lands in the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) area for the purpose of cluster level agribusiness activities.

Pune: Farmer producer companies (FPC) in the state of Maharashtra will be given lands in the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) area for the purpose of cluster level agribusiness activities. 

“Subhash Desai, minister of Industries, Maharashtra announced this decision at a meeting held with the FPCs in Mumbai today,” said Yogesh Thorat, managing director, MAHAFPC 

A delegation of FPCs under the banner of MAHAFPC had submitted some demands of FPCs to the minister a fortnight ago, following which, the decision to allocate plots to FPCs in MIDC was announced. Apart from this, Thorat has demanded to include FPCs in the Package Scheme of Incentives; 2013 or the New Industrial Policy,which is to be announced soon. FPCs are ken to get benefits like interest rate subsidies, contributions to the Provident Fund, confessional power tariff etc. from the industries department.

Also, Minister Desai asked to submit a proposal for the skill development required for the agro clusters which will be supported by the MIDC. 

Delegation comprised Vilas Shinde, MD, Sahyadri Farms, Maruti Chapke, promoter,Go for Fresh and Vithal Pisal from Amarsingh FPCs.
