Agriculture Minister Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura today called on the World Bank to continue to provide technical assistance to the agriculture sector of Jammu and Kashmir. The minster made this request while meeting the World Bank representatives in New Delhi, an official spokesperson said. Stressing that the state has a clear advantage in vegetable, mushroom, honey, saffron among other crops, the minister said the World Bank assistance will help create the necessary infrastructure and marketing facilities for farmers.
He informed the representatives that the state’s agriculture sector met massive damages in 2014 floods and requested that the World Bank continue to provide assistance to the State Government.
