On 19th July 2023, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) in Coimbatore and AgriCPS in Chennai signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop Artificial Intelligence (AI) based forewarning technologies for the prevention of pests and diseases, and to integrate automation technologies including fertigation in tapioca over a period of three years. This initiative is estimated to cost Rs.25.15 lakhs.

Tapioca and Castor Research Station is located at Yethapur, Salem and conducts research and extension activities for the benefit of tapioca farmers. Tapioca is a prominent industrial crop grown in Tamil Nadu's Salem and Namakkal districts. AgriCPS is one of the firms focusing on artificial intelligence to integrate automation technologies such as drones, drip irrigation, fertigation, and so on to improve tapioca yield.
