Annual day function at Idikarai High School; teachers dance at art show

In a Annual day function held at the Government High School in Idikarai near Coimbatore, the headmistress of the school Chitra and the teachers danced in the cultural programme of the students.



Coimbatore: Headmaster Chitra and other teachers danced and danced during the Annual day function held at the Government High School in Idikarai.

The Government High School, Idikarai, Coimbatore, celebrated the educational development day, the school's annual function and the literary club festival.



School headmaster Chitra welcomed everyone at the function which started with tamil thai greetings in the morning. Thiagarajan, president of the Parent Teachers Association, presided over the function.

The arts and literature competitions were held under the leadership of Dr. Manivannan and Tamil Semmal, Head, Department of Tamil, Government Arts College, Avinashi. In the afternoon, more than 500 students were given samabandhi bhojanam by the teachers.

The school headmaster Chitra welcomed everyone at the function held in the evening. Sitharaman, president of the Siddhapudur Government Higher Secondary School Alumni Association, presided over the function.

H R Annadurai of CRI PUMPS, which has adopted the school as part of the social welfare schemes under the Tamil Nadu Government Schools Development Programme and is carrying out the development work of the school, and Ilamurugan, Coimbatore District Assistant Project Coordinator, presided over the function.



Ashokapuram Government Higher Secondary School Headmaster Rajalakshmi, Vellakinar Government Higher Secondary School Headmaster Shanthi, CSR President of CRI BMS, Ramachandran, Headmaster of Narasimhanaickenpalayam Government High School, Rajeshwari, Headmaster, Ashokapuram Government High School, Vanitha Kumar, Headmaster of Vattamalaipalayam Government School, Shenbagam, Headmaster, Idikarai Government School, Athipalayam Government School Headmaster Jothimani and others were felicitated.

The teachers who made 100 per cent of their students pass in English and Mathematics subjects in the school and the teachers who worked for the highest pass percentage of the school were also honoured with shields.



School headmaster Chitra, who is due to retire soon, and Elizabeth Inbarani, a retiring mathematics teacher, were felicitated by the school teachers with shawls and shields.



Prizes were also distributed to the students who participated in sports and art and literature competitions held in the school.



This was followed by cultural programmes in which more than 200 school students participated.

School headmistress Chitra participated in a song and danced with the students.



In another Bharatanatyam, two school teachers danced and said that they are no less than the students.
