On 14th July 2023, the “Madras Agricultural Students Union†(MASU) celebrated its 112th foundation day. This century-old organisation is registered as a society under Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) and was established on 14th July 1911. Vice Chancellor Dr. V. Geethalakshmi delivered the Presidential address, presenting an overview of MASU’s history and founding motto.
Coimbatore: On July 14, 2023, the Madras Agricultural Students Union commemorated its 112th MASU Foundation Day.
The century-old evergreen "Madras Agricultural Students Union," a registered body of TNAU, was formed on July 14, 1911 and registered as a society in 1923. The welcome address was presented by MASU President Professor Dr. R. Kannan.

Vice Chancellor (TNAU) and Chief Patron (MASU) Dr.V.Geethalakshmi presented the Presidential address, in which she highlighted MASU's history and founding motto.
She also discussed the success of MASU's Madras Agricultural Journal, which has been published for the past 110 years, and encouraged the student community to publish and improve the standard of MAJ. The Chief Patron appreciated the Executive Committee for their efforts in re-establishing the MASU awards after a decade break.

In his chief guest address, Dr. B K Krishnaraj Vanavarayar, Chairman- Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, President- N.G.M College & KCT, appreciated the Union's efforts in continuously supporting the TNAU student community and encouraged the young minds of TNAU to work for the betterment of society and highlighted how an individual with a positive mindset can bring about extraordinary changes in lives of people.
He congratulated the award winners and students on their achievements during the MASU award ceremony.

The Chief Guest and Chief Patron (MASU) presented prizes to sixteen distinguished scientists from various disciplines of agriculture for their excellent performance in the field of agricultural research. The dignitaries awarded prizes to student winners of various competitions from all of TNAU's constituent colleges. Following the event, the MASU General Body Meeting was held. Professor Dr.M. Murugan, Secretary (MASU) delivered the Vote of Thanks.
