The inaugural function of the Tamil Sahitya Mandram was held at the Government Higher Secondary School, Poolankinar near Udumalai in Tirupur district. School Headmaster N Ganesan presided over the function and Post Graduate Tamil Teacher C. Saravanan delivered the welcome address.

Pa Umanandhini sung devotional songs titled Tamil as the language of bhakti during her special talk and stated that the Thevara trio's biography is also in harmony with the Tamil language.
