Coimbatore: Mridula Manasvi R K, a student from Coimbatore, has travelled to more than 13 countries. She is an International Baccalaureate (IB) Year 1 student and the founder of two initiatives, The Planterra, a climate initiative, and Gabiasplice, an educational initiative.

Planterra is a youth-led, non-profit organisation founded in November 2021 to create a positive difference in the environment. With a presence in over 13+ countries, the Plantterra community believes in collaborating globally. Its goal is to educate people about the seriousness of climate change and inspire them to take on the duty of environmental stewardship.
"With Plantterra in its final stages of development, it is a great honour to reveal that Erik Solheim, a well-known global leader on environment and development, as well as a former UN diplomat, has accepted our invitation to be Platterra's global ambassador," she said while interacting with Simplicity. Furthermore, we have travelled a significant distance, meeting with various officials such as the municipal police commissioner, a former district collector, and other environmentalists.
She stated that the application will unite people all across the world in the face of environmental change. Uploading and sharing various environmental actions will be technical components for which each user will be assigned a virtual money. The virtual currency will also be used to help save endangered species and other conservation efforts.
Their current efforts are being made through events and virtual discussions. Its partners include IBO (International Baccalaureate Organisation) and GASP (Global Alliance for Sustainable Planet).
Currently, 25 members are in the Planterra team from different countries who take up leadership roles in varied segments including the HR team, event organization and others. All of these members are between the ages of 15- 25 years.
"This initiative will boost the scope of individual environment enthusiasts, and it will provide a great platform for global leaders to directly witness all environmental activities around the world," Mridula remarked.
