Inter-College Science Fest 'KALAM-23' at Karpagam College of Engineering, Coimbatore

On May 13, 2023, a National Inter-College competition in technical and non-technical events, including a cultural programme, was organised specifically for Karpagam College of Engineering's first year B.E/B.Tech students.


Coimbatore: On May 13, 2023, a National Inter-College competition in technical and non-technical events, including a cultural programme, was organised specifically for Karpagam College of Engineering's first year B.E/B.Tech students.

Around 600 first-year students have registered for various technical and cultural events. Many technical challenges involving science models, paper presentations, science quiz, and craft corners were held to inspire young minds.



Around 35 student teams participated in science models and showed various models such as rain water detectors, house automations, two space websites, and barbour shop apps, among others.



Around 112 students participated in the paper presentation, which covered a wide range of issues such as artificial intelligence, transmission media, the internet of things, and the application of

mathematics in civil engineering.

The science quiz consisted of two rounds for 170 students: a preliminary round with aptitude and general knowledge questions, and a final round with short answer questions.

Around 20 children actively participated in the craft corner competition, creating wonderful crafts out of waste papers.



Cultural events such as solo dance, solo song, group dance, short film making, photography, Mehandi, and face painting have also been held.



In short filmmaking, 15 teams participated and filmed their remarkable abilities by creating films on various subjects such as delusion, friendship story, and robbery.

Aside from that, 24 kids competed in a photography contest, 10 competed in a face painting competition, and 30 competed in a Mehandi art event.



A total of 195 student teams expressed interest in participating in various cultural activities, mainly dance and singing competitions.

On campus, students have been engaged in entertaining games and drumming at the same time.



Dr. V. Kumar Chinnaiyan, Principal of Karpagam College of Technology presided over the function.

Heads of various departments graced the event as judges and distributed prizes to the winners.

Finally, a DJ (Disc Jockey) night was planned to keep the students entertained, and all of the first-year students simply relished the occasion.
