To normalise the tremendous inequities of NEET system, the School Education Department has come up with an initiative to provide free NEET coaching classes exclusively for government school students in Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: NEET being a mandatory entrance for the admission of undergraduate medical courses, the competitiveness among students has risen.In this case, only the top scorers of NEET entrance make their way into the government medical colleges.
Subsequently, most private schools have the provision of coaching the medical aspirants for NEET. On the contrary, government school students cannot afford such expensive coaching, which further impacts students' results in NEET.
To normalise these differences in academic excellence the School Education Department has come up with an initiative to provide free NEET coaching classes exclusively for government school students in Coimbatore.
The current year's NEET training sessions commenced on Monday. Accordingly, two centres, one at Kovundampalayam and the other at RS Puram Model School have been established. A total of 106 students are being trained under these centres, 50 students in the Kovundampalayam centre and 56 students in RS Puram Model School respectively. It was informed that accommodation including food for the NEET aspirants is provided in both centres.
