Coimbatore: The Department of English of Karpagam Academy of Higher Education organized and conducted a two-day international conference on 'Emerging Vistas in English Langaugae and Literature' on March 30 and 31 at its campus in Coimbatore.
Salethvensus, Assistant Professor, Department of English welcomed the gathering. Dr. Soloman Paulraj highlighted the importance of the conference and how English Language and Literature is celebrated by people of different countries and cultures because it is a pivotal tool to record their history and make the world aware of problems that have been hushed up for ages.
"The main objective of the conference is to promote myriad streams of newly-added literary genres and topics along with traditional ones," he emphasized.
Dr. B Venkatachalapathy delivered the Presidential address. There were nearly 100 participants who presented papers at the conference. The event was concluded by Dr. Selvalakshmi S, Professor and Head, Department of English who proposed the vote of thanks.
