In this regard, through the School Management Committee (SMC), the process of identifying long absentees and filing their names in a spreadsheet is in progress with teachers instructed to follow up on students and counsel them to appear for the Board exams.
Coimbatore: The School Education Department is working at full pace in listing down the long absentees of Class 10 in schools ahead of the SSLC exams scheduled to commence on April 6.
District Education officials informed that as many as 41,526 students are listed to appear in 157 centres across Coimbatore district for the upcoming SSLC Board exams.
Earlier for the Class 12 Board examination, more than 1000 students were reported absent for subsequent exams. Following this, the Education Department is taking measures to ensure all the 10th-grade students appear for the examination.
