Coimbatore: Coimbatore's renowned Bharathiar University has been accredited with a cumulative grade point Average (CGPA) of 3.63 on a 4-point scale at A++ grade, the top in seven grades, by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in its fourth cycle. The grade is valid for seven years with effect from March 30, 2023.
The University in its past three cycles maintained the A grade with scores of 85.40 in 2004, 3.02 in 2009, and 3.4 in 2016. The present score has overwhelmed those of the past three cycles which personifies the continued upward trend in the University's academic performance.
The present assessment has been undertaken based on grade point average scores obtained in seven different criteria such as Curricular Aspects; Teaching-Learning and Evaluation; Research, Innovation and Extensions; Infrastructure and Learning Resources; Student Support and Progression; Governance, Leadership and Management; and Institutional Values and Best Practices. A CGPA of 3.63 signifies the University's contribution and performance in all the seven assessment criteria of the NAAC.
