Sep 15, 2022 : September 15, the birth anniversary of Sir M Visvesvaraya is celebrated as Engineer's Day since 1968 as a tribute to the great engineer who helped in building some of the architectural marvels including the Krishna Raja Sagar Dam in Karnataka. Every year, Park Institutions ensures that Engineer's Day is celebrated with the participation of all the faculty and students at its Kaniyur campus. This year, the theme was 'Smart Engineering for a Better World.' The event was organised by the Institution of Engineers (India). PCET Student Chapter.

Prof Dr. Kumaresan, Faculty Advisor, PCET Student Chapter, Institution of Engineers (India) welcomed the gathering while Dr. Lakshmanan, Principal, Park College of Engineering and Technology felicitated the gathering. He also advised the students to "Know Something about Everything and Everything about Something" to be a successful engineer. Soundararajan, MD, Amarnath Industries, Coimbatore graced the event as the Chief Guest.

Dr. Anusha Ravi, CEO, Park Institutions has announced a project competition on this occasion based on this year's theme. The project competition aims to bring out innovative talent in budding engineers. The winners will be selected and suitably rewarded on the birth anniversary of Dr. Abdul Kalam which is on October 15. Padmapriya, a final year Bio-medical Engineering student concluded the event with a vote of thanks.
